Description
"Town of Hartford residents were asked to stuff the ballot box Tuesday after the town's only optical scanner voting machine stopped working around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. Poll workers Larry Baugniet and Kenneth Kainz advised voters on how to insert the ballot into a slot at the side of the machine where all of the cards were stored.
When the storage bin was full, poll workers removed the ballots and secured them in a special bag. All of the ballots will be counted later Tuesday after a new optical scanning device was placed in the machine, Town Clerk Marv Justman said. The vote count reached 505 by 9:50 a.m." (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel)
